Carterton, Oxfordshire

Carterton is a thriving town set in rural West  Oxfordshire. The town has grown from a village community based on market gardening. It has rapidly expanded in the last thirty years with the growth and development of nearby Royal Air Force, Brize Norton. The present population stands at about fifteen thousand.  An Oxfordshire County Council Survey indicated that Carterton stands out as unique in the County. It has the youngest workforce and the highest male/female ratio of workers. Carterton has a Community College providing secondary education, and five Primary Schools, including good Nursery provision. The Carterton Educational Trust has been established to serve this growing community.
